'Boro close in on Britt Assombalonga'
Middlesbrough FC are set to complete the signing of Britt Assombalonga today.
The striker is understood to be heading to Teesside for a medical, ahead of a club record transfer from Nottingham Forest.
It is understood that Forest would have preferred to sell Assombalonga to a Premier League club rather than a Championship rival, however Burnley failed to meet the fee in which Forest were holding out for.
Boro are believed to be willing to pay up to £14 milling to secure the 24-year-old striker, whilst the player's wages would immediately double and could rise up to £60k a week in future if Boro win promotion back to the Premier League.
